Hi, my name is David Roelofs. Thanks for stopping by! I’d like to share some of my artwork with you.
I guess I’m one of the “lucky ones” who were born with artistic talent, although at a young age, other than sketching to pass the time during math class, I had no interest whatsoever in following an art career. Now, in my autumn years, with a few physical limitations that make me unable to work at a normal job, I’ve finally returned to my art with reignited fervor. I typically work well into the early hours of the morning, usually retiring to my bed at 2:00 or 3:00 AM.
I work primarily with airbrush and graphite, pyrography and pen and ink. I sometimes use colored pencils, pastels and water colors as well. I also do some carving and engraving. I make all of my frames from scratch, and most of my pieces are mounted under an acrylic sheet. When you receive one of my pieces of art, it will be ready to hang right out of the box.
I’m a stickler for detail and this is evident in all of my work. I try for photo-realism if at all possible within the medium that I am using. I share my work on social media and have received numerous comments on the quality of my work.
All of my work is available for purchase. If an item is currently out of stock, it may still be special ordered with a delivery date of 3 to 4 weeks normally, according to my workload. To view or purchase my artwork, click here. Any questions, click here.
